The administration team focuses on driving the organization's core initiatives through strategic leadership and collaboration. The departments report directly to the General Manager.
Job functions include:
- Communications - enhances public awareness and engagement by managing outreach, media relations and internal communications.
- Water Conservation and Efficiency - promotes sustainable practices and develops programs to ensure the efficient use of water resources
- Water Resources - oversees the planning and management of ensuring access to a reliable water supply.
The Human Resources team ensures Highlands Ranch Water's workforce is supported through comprehensive benefits administration, effective hiring practices, and compliance with safety and wellness standards. Additionally, the team manages payroll operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness while fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes employee well-being and organizational excellence.
The Finance team manages the organization’s $80 million budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities. The team oversees the billing team, manages insurance and liability processes, and provide essential financial support across all staff departments to maintain operational efficiency and accountability. In addition, the team is responsible for the following activities:
- Preparation financial reports and coordinate the independent audit
- Direction of the third-party investment portfolio
- Financial planning, preparation of long-range financial forecasts, and preparing the annual budget
- Management and direction of debt activities
The public works and engineering team is responsible for contract administration, business support and GIS. The team is responsible for the following:
- Central direction, coordination, and supervision of engineering and contract administration
- Maintenance of accurate and complete geospatial data, enabling the board and managers to make decisions impacting the future of the district in an informed and logical manner
- Facilitation of design and construction of capital and major repair projects
The Operations Team oversees the water and wastewater operations, facilities and asset management, and field operations and maintenance. The department is responsible for the following:
- Maintenance of equipment associated with storage reservoirs including erosion control
- Management of wells, storage reservoirs and ground water supply; filtration, pumping, operations, and maintenance
- Operations and maintenance associated with the transport of water through the distribution system and treatment of surface water sources to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act.
- Operation and maintenance of the district’s wastewater collection system including cleaning and emergency repairs to sewage transport facilities
- Treatment of wastewater to comply with the state and federal regulations prior to discharge to the South Platte River.
- Preventative maintenance associated with capital equipment and facilities to minimize any facility down time
- Operation and maintenance of lift stations which are necessary to transport sewage from low lying areas to the main sewage collector system
