Employees receive medical, dental and vision coverage. Highlands Ranch Water pays 100% of the employee premium for all medical plans, and 75% of the dependent premium for dependent coverage. Dental insurance is provided through Delta Dental, and vision coverage is provided through the Vision Service Plan. Enrollment in dental and vision coverage is optional.
Employees can take advantage of a variety of time-off benefits including:

Highlands Ranch Water offers a pension plan and a 457 deferred compensation plan. The district does not pay into Social Security; the 414h pension plan is a Social Security replacement plan. Employees can also save for retirement by contributing to a 457 deferred compensation plan. The plan is available to save either pre-tax or post-tax (Roth IRA) dollars. Employees can opt-out of 457 contributing or change their 457 contribution rate at any time.
Highlands Ranch Water believes in taking care of its number one customer, its staff. The district offers an EAP program with a variety of health and wellness services for employees. This includes confidential support, guidance, and resources to help employees and their family members resolve personal work/life issues. Telephone, online and face-to-face assessments and counseling options are available.
Employees can participate in this voluntary program through American Fidelity. These plans offer medical reimbursement and childcare pretax benefits. Current after-tax expenses are reimbursed with pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction. A variety of options are available including flexible spending accounts, short-term disability, insurance, cancer insurance, accident only insurance, and more.
All employees working 20 or more hours per week are enrolled in life insurance, long-term disability insurance and AD&D policies. Highlands Ranch Water pays 100% of the premiums.
